The hospitality and tourism industry is one of Americas top economic activities. In fact, the travel industry is on of the top three economic providers in the majority of all U.S. states, as well as the fastest growing industry in the world. St. Joseph's College hospitality and tourism management graduates have the potential to be employed regionally and beyond in this profession by the following:

  • New York regional hotels and restaurants
  • New York Yankees, Mets and Giants
  • Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden and 138th Street Armory
  • Coney Island resorts and theme parks
  • Gateway National Recreation Area, U.S. National Park Service
  • Agritourism operation of Long Island
  • Regional hospitals and care provider facilities
  • Public, non-profit and private hospitality and tourism organizations

The amount of leisure time is increasing and so will the demand for tourism and hospitality services. To effectively and efficiently deliver these high-demand services, there will continue to be a growing need for well trained and highly qualified hospitality and tourism management graduates.

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management's curriculum prepares students for professional careers in this dynamic and expanding field. The undergraduate offerings focus on event planning, attractions management, marketing, legal and financial aspects, and the tour management of the industry.
