Our students do applied internships in such settings as:
- Homeless shelters
- Developmental centers serving at-risk children and families
- Crisis hotline programs
- Domestic violence agencies
- Court mandated programs
- Substance abuse programs
For applied internships, junior and senior psychology majors enroll in PSY 400 Internship in Psychology, which involves an 80-hour field placement in a clinical setting or other site involving applied psychology. Also gain practical experience in our service learning courses;
- Community psychology
- Travel abroad (e.g., Oxford, Romania)
and are offered internships in research laboratories.
