Philosophical Society

The Philosophical Society is intended to be a meeting place for students who are interested in the study of philosophy. Members do not have to be philosophy majors or minors; all students are welcome to join. It is a place to explore ideas that may be unable to be expressed in class. During club meetings, we wish to hold “seminars,” in which students, officers or members, may present a topic to spark discussion and debate to familiarize ourselves with a broader range of conceptions, such as religion, ethics, politics, and more. We want to create a community in which students can expand their knowledge, learn new things, and explore the diversity of ancient and modern philosophies together. We believe philosophical discourse and education in a relaxed club setting will foster wisdom for a lifetime.
