Our stories, our struggles, our words! Join us for open discussion on hot topics that are impacting us and the world we live in. This is a chance for you to express your thoughts, feelings and ideas about this and other diverse topics. Different topics will be discussed each time we meet.

Day of the Dead

Day of the Dead, Dia de Muertos, is an annual Mexican celebration that is observed over an entire week with various foods, dances, music, the preparation of altars and special offerings for people who have died. It is a special time for families to gather and welcome the souls of the dead on their annual visit home. Join us as we celebrate the lives of our loved ones.

Food is one way to unite people of all backgrounds. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate diversity and cultivate dialogue amongst individuals of various cultures and generations. Join us for traditional cultural dishes.

Human Rights Day

On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In celebration of this day, we will be celebrate all aspects of human rights and freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. Human Rights Day celebrates the differences from person to person but also celebrate the similarities that we share as people.
