SJC offered me flexibility as an adult student that I knew I couldn’t find elsewhere. It took me 10 years to finish my bachelor’s degree, but I am thankful for all the lessons and experiences that led me to graduate.
Studio Arts and Child Study
I knew I could trust the education that I would be receiving here. I was fortunate enough to have several Sisters of St. Joseph as professors. Each of them gave me a sense of the incredible care and thought that they put into each lesson.

At SJC, the classroom experience was much different. At (my former college), the classes were gigantic. The professors were so much more approachable and friendly at SJC, I developed a working relationship with many of my professors — great, helpful people. The staff at SJC truly cares about its students. It’s such a breath of fresh air.
Participating in athletics at SJC Brooklyn helped me step out of my comfort zone. I learned how to be a leader and my teammates became my family away from home.
Hospitality and Tourism Management
St. Joseph’s provides all the tools necessary for a student to prosper in both his collegiate career and future career. If my internship at Bellevue Hospital or my political internship didn’t happen, certain skills and my varied interests wouldn’t have been honed. The opportunities to network and intern culminate for an exceptional education.
At St. Joe’s, I was allowed to branch out and put my personality into my writing. Because the classes were so intimate, you got a chance to get one-on-one feedback. It prepared me for the editing process as a journalist. It was great to have professors who really wanted you to find your voice and think outside the box.
