    Brooklyn Voices Presents Ann Patchett

    SJC Brooklyn kicks off another series of Brooklyn Voices events with novelist Ann Patchett on September 13. Patchett will discuss her latest novel, Commonwealth.

    Commonwealth is the seventh of Patchett’s novels, which include Bel Canto and State of Wonder. She has also written three books of nonfiction, including Truth & Beauty and This is the Story of a Happy Marriage. Her numerous awards include Britain’s Orange Prize, the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Harold D. Vursell Memorial Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. In November 2011, she and Karen Hayes opened Parnassus Books in Nashville, Tennessee, and she has since gone on to be a spokesperson for independent booksellers. 

    Tickets for this event are $30 and include a copy of Commonwealth. There will be an opportunity to have to the book signed by Patchett following the discussion. To purchase tickets, go to
