Council for the Arts Presents Plus Ca Change, Plus C’est La Meme Chose

    Thursday, September 15, 2016
    5:30 pm
Alumni Room, Tuohy Hall, SJC Brooklyn

SJC Brooklyn's Council for the Arts presents Plus Ca Change, Plus C’est La Meme Chose (The more things change, the more they stay the same), from September 12 through October 28 in the Alumni Room Gallery of Tuohy Hall.

The schedule includes an opening reception on Thursday, September 15; a Community Gallery Talk on Thursday, September 29 at 1 p.m.; and an Artist Talk on Saturday, October 15 at 3 p.m. Gallery hours are Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. and Saturdays from 1-3 p.m.

"Plus ça change, plus c’est la meme chose" is the inaugural exhibition celebrating the centennial of SJC Brooklyn. The past century of an institution is an opportunity to explore not just the past but our reactions and accommodations to a fluid present. Through paint, printmaking, photographs and fabric, the artists from throughout Brooklyn examine the concept of change: change in our neighborhoods, our communities, our society, ourselves.  As the title suggests, as things change, they are – we are – often the same.
