The Office of Global Studies has connected Mathematics and Computer Information Technology majors with study abroad programs in such places as Budapest, England, Ireland, New Zealand and Scotland.

Students not sure about spending an entire semester abroad also have the opportunity to attend a shorter faculty-led trip. Past destinations for these one or two-week trips have included Poland and Ireland.

Mathematics Majors

Learn from some of Hungary’s highly acclaimed mathematicians during a semester abroad in Budapest with the Budapest Semester Mathematics (BSM) program. Gain problem solving, creativity and teamwork skills through a wide variety of course offerings, including combinatorics, number theory, and probability theory. This program is open to juniors and seniors only.

Computer Information Technology Majors

The Heriott Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, offers students at all undergraduate levels an excellent opportunity to learn both inside the classroom and out. Participate in special excursions planned to help visitors become familiar with the culture and surrounding areas. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

One of United Kingdom’s Ivy League schools, the University of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England, allows students to study among researchers considered experts in their fields. Students can spend up to two semesters abroad, learning while exploring the multicultural city and its nearby countryside. Applicants must be sophomores or higher with a GPA of at least 3.0. 

Ranked the No. 1 institution in Ireland in 2021 by Top Universities, Trinity College Dublin offers CIT majors a unique opportunity to study in an area of Ireland nicknamed the “Silicon Valley of Europe.” Dublin houses many major tech companies’ European headquarters. The program is open to students of all undergraduate levels, and it offers several scholarship opportunities.
