Bio

Renee White-Clark is a professor in the graduate literacy and child study program at St. Joseph's University, New York as well as director of the University's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative.

Specializing in the importance of multicultural diversity and parental involvement as the foundation to a child's education, Dr. White-Clark has written numerous articles and book chapters, and has presented extensively and written papers for conferences both nationally and internationally. She co-authored the book, The "Hard-to-Reach" Parent: Old Challenges, New Insights with L. Decker.

Dr. White-Clark was a Carnegie Scholar for The CASTL Institutional Leadership Program in 2007, and was selected for inclusion in the publication, Who's Who in Higher Education by the Association of Black Women in Higher Education in 2003. She has received accolades for her dedication to teaching and education, including the Eugene Campbell Leadership Award and United Federation of Teachers Scholarship Award, and was the recipient of several grants, including the Faculty Development Small Grant and New York State Education Department Task Force Grant, both from St. Joseph's University. She is also a member of several societies, including the Association of Black Women in Higher Education and National Association for Multicultural Education.

Dr. White-Clark has widespread experience teaching a variety of courses in child study and literacy, including Language and Literacy Acquisition, Cultural Literacy and Literacy and Assessment Strategies for the Diverse Learner.
