Brooklyn Campus to Host 19th Annual High School Poster Session

BROOKLYN, N.Y. January 28, 2014 - St. Josephs College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it will partner with the American Chemical Society (ACS) to host the 19th Annual High School Poster Session on Saturday, February 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event will take place on the Brooklyn Campus in the Tuohy Hall Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

"This competition provides students with an excellent opportunity to present the results of their research projects, develop presentation skills and share their enthusiasm for science with their peers, said Dr. Jill Rehmann, Brooklyn Campus associate dean.

At this event, 120 students will come together to exhibit more than 100 poster presentations, making it the most well-attended competition to date. All research posters will be judged by scientists working in both academia and private industry.

Cindie Kehlet, Ph.D, associate professor of mathematics and science at Pratt Institute will present the keynote address. Dr. Kehlet was awarded the 2006 Danish Young Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Researcher Prize for her work in biological solid-state NMR spectroscopy. A studio-trained fine artist as well, she also explores the applications of NMR techniques to the science of art conservation.
