Clare Rose Playhouse Presents ‘Other Desert Cities’

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – AUGUST 24, 2015 – The Clare Rose Playhouse, a community theater at SJC Long Island, will begin its 31st anniversary season with the drama, Other Desert Cities. The show will run from September 25 through October 11, 2015.

In Other Desert Cities by Jon Robin Baitz, a woman returns home to Palm Springs, California to visit her parents after a six-year absence and announces to her family that she has authored a memoir that divulges a pivotal event in their family’s history. The play balances comedy and intense family drama in a way that is richly entertaining.

The Clare Rose Playhouse is accessible via the South Service Road of Sunrise Highway, just east of Exit 52 (Waverly Avenue) in Patchogue, on the northeast corner of the Long Island Campus of SJC.

A former cottage converted in 1985 through the generosity and guidance of the man for whom it is named, the Playhouse serves as a major teaching facility for the College’s theater courses and a training ground for young actors.
