SJC Council for the Arts Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

PATCHOGUE, NY SEPTEMBER 8, 2010 In honor of Hispanic heritage month, the St. Josephs College Council for the Arts will present, "Projecting Art, in the board room gallery in OConnor Hall on the Colleges Long Island Campus from September 8 October 9.

"Projecting Art, named for both the group and their collection of paintings by Latino artists with roots in Central and South America, has made history in contemporary arts.

The reception for this exhibit will take place on September 30 at 6 p.m. and will be immediately followed by a Hispanic dance festival at 7:30 p.m. The dance festival will be presented by Sol y Somba, a pair of Spanish dancers who have mastered a variety of styles, including tango, salsa and flamenco. Sol y Sombra will be joined by several dancers to put on a show of the most popular and exciting dances from Hispanic countries.
