SJC Long Island Alumnus Awarded Saint Catherine Medal

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – October 16, 2015 – The Office of Alumni Engagement at SJC Long Island recently awarded the Saint Catherine Medal to SJC alumnus Liam Kuhn ’01 at the annual Honors Convocation on Thursday, October 15. 

The Saint Catherine Medal is awarded annually to recognize recipients for their leadership, scholarship and service. Only colleges and universities that are affiliated with Kappa Gamma Pi, the national catholic college graduate honor society, can award the Saint Catherine Medal. 

“Congratulations to Liam Kuhn on this tremendous honor,” said Paige Carbone ’02, director of alumni engagement and the college centennial. “Liam continually gives back every year and is so deserving of this award. We are lucky to have him as a part of the SJC Alumni Association and we are grateful for his service and leadership.” 

Mr. Kuhn graduated with a B.A. in History from SJC Long Island. As a student, he was a member of the History Club, Students Taking an Active Role in Society (STARS), the Campus Activities Board and the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Kuhn received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) from Stony Brook University in 2006 and has been an executive board member of the SJC Alumni Association for 13 years. In addition, he volunteers at countless alumni events and received the Alumni Leadership Award in 2012.
