SJC Wins 17 Communication Awards

PATCHOGUE, NY NOVEMBER 13, 2009 The 2009 MarCom Awards, a leading international competition for recognizing superior creativity in communication and marketing fields, has honored St. Josephs College with 17 awards for exceeding industry standards in quality and excellence. Five entries, including design and writing in the St. Josephs College Magazine, received Platinum Awards, the highest recognition; six Gold Awards were granted for writing and design; the Web site home page and five other entries won honorable mentions.

"We are always grateful for the opportunity to compete against leading educational institutions all over the world, said Executive Director of Print and Digital Communications Kathleen Carey. "Its an honor to be recognized for our creative talents and we will continue to work toward enhancing the overall image of the College by striving to produce the very best print and digital marketing pieces.

The MarCom Awards competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Participants include companies and individuals that are the best in their industry and whose talent surpasses a high standard of excellence. Each entry is judged solely on its quality, creativity and resourcefulness, regardless of project budget or size of institution. 

St. Josephs College competed against other leading higher education institutions, including Carnegie Mellon University, Emerson College, Texas A&M University, Johns Hopkins University and Ohio State University, as well as industry leaders like Costco, Toyota, UPS, Wells Fargo and American Express.
