According to Bureau of Labor Statistics, career opportunities in the criminal justice field are on the rise. St. Joseph’s College B.S. graduates are particularly attractive given their specialization in law enforcement, mental health, juvenile justice, or community correctional alternatives. Such specialized tracks are unique to the SJC Criminal Justice education.
The Criminal Justice B.S. prepares students to think critically about (1) the causes and consequences of crime (2) evolving contemporary issues in the field of criminal justice, and (3) the role of empirical research to guide policy development.
One of the unique components is the requirement of an internship in the final semester of the senior year. Students are placed in an agency congruent with their interests where they learn first-hand.
Our task is to prepare you to join the ranks of professionals in the criminal justice field or to enhance your promotion potential at an existing job. Achieve your personal goals. Become the leader, critical thinker, and policy maker in your chosen field.
